Brutalist Modernist Geometric Sculpture in Caste Stainless Signed Paul Mount
About the Item
The "Duet" Modernist Geometric Sculpture by Paul Mount (1922-2009) is made in Polished and textured stainless steel. Originating from England Circa 1970, this sculpture features two gracefully spaced and balanced forms rising from a central rectangular element featuring a tunneled center made in a single cast piece of stainless steel. The volcanic naturalistic texturing recedes and informs the polished surface of the sculpture, creating a dynamic textural and spatial experience. Strikingly beautiful from all angles, this signature work highlights Mount’s talent for reshaping naturalistic forms into abstract sculptures that combine the natural world with modern design sensibilities. Sophisticated yet approachable and charming, this piece will style brilliantly in a wide array of interiors and serves as an excellent addition to collectors of fine sculpture. In excellent vintage condition.
England, Circa 1970.
