Ceramic Vessel Sculptures: Biomorphic, Ceramic Organic Shapes

About the Item

Ceramic Vessel Sculptures: Biomorphic, Ceramic Organic Shapes These ceramic, biomorphic sculptures were formed organically with porcelain clay, the pieces morphed from a vessel into a sculptural object. They have been glazed and fired three times with gold lustre accents. This ceramic piece took a few weeks to make, mold and transform into an object that looks like it was plucked from the sea. I like playing with the idea that my pieces could have been found objects, buried deep in the sane of an ancient ocean. I want them to feel old, yet of this time. There are two pieces that work well together, they create their own story with each other. Both pieces come from many years of abstract painting slowly turning into ceramic sculptural work. I like to combine the painting aspect with my ceramic pieces, although you are never certain of the outcome. These pieces are a beautiful addition to either a stark, white space or a moody, dark nook. They look alive and strong, just like the ceramic materials they are hand-made from.

The tripod is uniquely with bronze acrylic, iron-rust interactive acrylic, airbrushed enamels (red, green and yellow) all layered on top of each other. Signed by the artist, each piece is comprised of a marriage of four elements -- a vessel held aloft by three legs. The process of fluid transition between the elements so that the product reads as one form was vital as he built the foundation for his signature collection. The Tripod Vessels...
