Contemporary Wall Mounted Sculpture from 'Ripples' Series by James Rowland

About the Item

A piece from the 'Ripples' abstract sculpture series by James Rowland made from Brazilian hard wood Ipê. Scottish Artist and furniture Designer-Maker James Rowland of Knót Artesanal is treading a new path in search of organic forms inspired by the abundant nature found in his local surroundings on Brazil's Atlantic coast. James's work mixes tones, forms and volumes to instill a sense of movement, creating pieces in which each hand-carved curve plays with light and shadow to reflect the natural beauty of the wood. The contemporary artworks display the similar minimalist characteristics seen in his furniture designs mixing organic and modern through clean lines and delicate curves.
