About the Item
This fabulous vintage double U-shaped abstract sculpture by the noted artist Mary Preminger is so modernist. It is chrome on a black marble original base. It was executed in 1968. It is unsigned though but definitely her work. It is believed to be reminiscent of the noted English sculptor Donald Wells. Mary Preminger was an internationally known and respected sculptor whose exhibitions were in the Museum of Modern Art and the Los Angeles County Museum to name a few. The elements of this sculpture are predictions of shifting forms in space and time. Mary Preminger was the second wife of the renowned and famous movie director Otto Preminger. This is a very desirable and fantastic sculpture to collect and purchase. It was polished to the best it can be. This sculpture transcends time and is very sophisticated.
