19th century French bronze sculpture of Nesting Quail on marble base will make the perfect decoration for desktop, bookcase, mantel, counter or buffet. It will also make a stunning paperweight for the executive in your family! Depicting a quail hen feeding her young, it is a classic representation of the celebration of nature during the Belle Epoque period, while simultaneously glorifying the family unit, a concept that holds forth for almost all life on this planet. Meticulously sculpted in great detail, the family is seen next to an old fallen branch on the forest floor in a wonderfully lifelike scenario. Cast in the round, it has been custom fitted and mounted on a richly veined beveled marble base. Circa 1890s Measures 6 height x 5.5 in diameter.
