About the Item
Art Deco bronze bookend, circa 1920s. An uncommon large size, depicting an elephant leaning forward bracing to hold up a row of books.
Pushing with the flattened front part of its head, trunk are partially curled beneath open mouth with short sturdy tusks.
Features a dark brown patina, set on an attractive amber coloured shaped marble plinth bases.
