Large size and rare antique black forest desk set, circa 1920. If you are a collector of decorative and meaningful antiques from the black forest then this handcrafted work of beauty (of deeper meaning) could be gracing your home or office soon. With the owl being the international symbol for wisdom and learning, this inkstand could not have a more stylish and appropriate carving as this owl. The 'writing tool' with yet another owl on top is a 'blotter'. These were particularly handy when writing with a dip pen, because with it one could easily clear the writing paper of the surplus ink.
