Partridge by Alcino Silversmith 1902 is a handcrafted piece in sterling silver 925 with natural malachite egg and natural grenade eyes!
The piece is totally handcrafted, hammered and chiseled by our excellent craftsmen in our workshop in Porto, Portugal.
This animal sculpture is a unique piece due to his handcrafted work and the natural egg.
No two animals will never be the same.
Partridges are midsize birds with curved bills that live in a variety of habitats around the world, including forests, grasslands, and rocky plains.
Despite what you may have heard about pear trees, the 56 partridge species are ground-dwellers, using their short, sturdy legs and strong claws to dig for food or make nests. These pheasant relatives generally run quickly, though they will burst into flight if danger looms.
They represent in a pear tree Jesus, the Son of God, whose birthday we celebrate on the first day of Christmas. Christ is symbolically presented as a mother partridge, a bird that will die to protect its young.
The finishing is oxidized.
