Small Infant Liberty's London Omersa Brown Leather Hippopotamus Footstool
About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely sublime very rare and original 1930’s Liberty’s London Omersa brown leather land dyed infant Hippo stool or footstool with original glass eyes.
These come in varying sizes, this is the small sized infant, I have the matching medium sized male and female listed under my other items, I also have the extra large bench stool.
These were originally designed as footstools but this is way to small to be used for anything other than decoration.
We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, the condition is very good for the age, the leather has a wonderful patina throughout, this piece just screams period patina and charm, the ears perished a lot time ago and are no longer present, they were just little tufts of leather, this has been reflected in the price

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
