Studio Pottery Piggy Bank by David Gil and Yusuke Aida for Bennington Potters

About the Item

Mid-Century Modern unglazed greige and glazed blue studio pottery pig sculpture/bank designed in the 1960s by David Gil and Yusuke Aida for Bennington Potters of Vermont (model #1541). Scarcely seen in this particular color combination. Executed in a style akin to sgraffito, the floral details were created by removing beads of the top layer to form the pattern from the blue underglaze. Very good, vintage condition with only light patina present; no chips, cracks, or crazing. Includes a rubber stopper, as shown. H: 4.75" L: 7.25" x D: 4.5"
