English, Late 19th Century.
Measures: Height 34cm, width 91cm, depth 41cm.
This exceptional piece is a remarkably large brass box in the shape of a lobster, made in Victorian England. Crafted with an excellent level of realism, it comes with a removable top that opens up with a small storage space - the interest and uniqueness of the object however is as a grand, bravado, and unmissable statement piece. Significantly larger than most objects and of this type, it is meant to convey the extravagant and proud temperament of the owner. Clearly meant to be the centre of attention, it is not a piece to miss.
