A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique German sterling silver presentation ornaments in the form of birds; part of our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent antique sterling silver presentation/table ornaments have been realistically modelled in the form of birds perched on branches. Each silver bird is ornamented with embossed and chased decoration, reproducing the details of the anatomical features and feathers. The branches are embellished with fine embossed and chased features replicating the natural bark and annual growth rings. The organic textured bases of the silver models stand to the original mahogany wood turned bases. The hallmarks struck to each base of these exceptional table ornaments include: Maker's mark: n (L. An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of vintage English cast sterling silver military related presentation table ornaments; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These exceptional vintage cast sterling silver commemorative presentation table ornaments have a figural form to a circular base. The body of each trophy has been realistically modelled in the form of a medical soldier carrying an injured fellow on his back. The male figures are ornamented with details reproducing the military attire and anatomical features. Each ornament is further embellished with a terrain texture in junction with the plinth base. The silver trophies are fitted to cylindrical painted, ebonised wood bases ornamented with hallmarked plaques. The plaque to one trophy is blank and the other bears the contemporary engraved inscription 'Officers Mess, British Military Hospital, Berlin, 1990'. The terrain textured sterling silver base of each table ornament bears the retailer's mark 'Garrard & Co Ltd, 112 Regent Street, London', in addition to the full hallmarks of the renowned silversmiths Garrard & Co Ltd. This vintage silver elephant ornament has been embellished with chased details reproducing the fine definition of the elephant's skin and anatomical features. The model is further ornamented with caparison ornamented with scenes depicting a rural setting with iconic wild, indigenous animals. This fabric effect covering is further embellished with a stylised floral motif decorated border and features two-dimensional tassels to the terminals.
