A fine antique miniature bronze. A miniature portrait bust of Molière, the alias of the playwright Jean Baptiste Poquelin. Modeled after the original by Jean-Antoine Houdon. Cast by F. Barbedienne. Simply a wonderful cabinet-sized bronze! Date: Late 19th or early 20th century Condition Details: There is light rubbing to the patina. Otherwise, there are some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: With an 'F. Barbedienne' maker's mark impressed on the underside of the shoulders.
