Italian Marble Bust of a Smiling Young Woman, Signed Tiruk

About the Item

This bust sensitively captures the beauty and innocence of youth. Her thick hair is worn in a single braid; her head is thrown back as she laughs. The sculptor, who signs indistinctly, is clearly very competent. It is difficult to date, I would suggest 1930s. Both the marble and the sculptor are Italian, in our opinion, although we have no information about him.
