Mid 20th Century Bronze Bust of The Greek Goddess of Music

About the Item

The Mousai (Muses) were the goddesses of music, song and dance, the source of inspirations to poets. They were also goddesses of knowledge who remembered all things that had come to pass. This is a beautiful polished bronze bust with her hair tied back and branches of laurel sitting atop of her head. Below her chest is a lyre symbol of harmony and leaves on a branch. She is signed by the artist on the back of the bronze shown in the photos, not sure of the spelling. This is a beautiful bronze bust in very good condition.
