Antique Arts & Crafts Artist's Lay Figure / Articulated Wooden Mannequin ca1905

About the Item

Incredibly rare and excellent condition Arts and Crafts lay figure. Artist's lay figures are among the most sought after collectables in the antiques trade and therefor too they have always been valued. One of the reasons is ofcourse, because of what they were (and still are) used for and another is that they are extremely decorative and tactile. Antique lay figures (or mannequins) are rare and valuable, but they are out there. However, they are almost always from the same era and in the same style. And that is exactly what makes this mannequin stand out, because this stylish and unique lay figure is in the Arts and Crafts style. Collectors will immediately know how rare and special it is to find one and, for us, to have been given the opportunity to purchase this lay figure in such original and museum worthy condition again felt like a blessing. Also, because we already know that we are going to make someone very happy with this once in a lifetime find. Over the many decades both the wood and the antique metal screws have grown a marvelous patina. As you can see in our photos, this geometrically stylized Arts and Crafts mannequin can be placed in all kinds of positions and the 'Neo dodging bullets in the Matrix position' is one of our favourites here. If you already have a place and space in mind for this stunning antique then maybe you should be its next custodian. You will hardly ever find a more decorative antique and this work of art also makes a great talking piece. Our fair price for this extremely rare Arts and Crafts lay figure includes perfect packing and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 2 to 4 days. Height x width x depth when standing (as in image number two): 16.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for the best craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
