Art Nouveau Rosenthal Porcelain Figurine of Storming Bacchantes by A. Cassmann

About the Item

An Art Nouveau figurine by Rosenthal. Entitled "Stürmende Bacchantes" which translates to "Storming Bacchantes". Depicting three half clothed figures stepping towards (or from) a bacchanalian celebration. Model number K.190 Modeled by Albert Cassmann and marked for the Rosenthal art department from 1914-1915. Simply a wonderful period Art Nouveau figurine! Date: Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is overpaint and possibly repairs to the far edge of the female figure's skirt and a tiny firing flaw on the plinth near the figures' feet. Otherwise, there are some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Rosenthal Pattern: K.190 Marks: A green underglaze Rosenthal Kunst-Abteilung SELB-BAVARIA, a 1915 shield mark, and an impressed K.190 Measurements: Height: ca. 8 1/2 in. Width: ca. 6 in.
