Christian Thomsen Royal Copenhagen Two Girls and Doll Figure
About the Item
A scarce Danish Royal Copenhagen porcelain figure of two girls with a doll designed by Christian Thomsen (1860-1921) and dating from the mid 20th century. The figure stands raised on a small rounded base and portrays two girls dressed in night gowns with one holding a doll. The girls are well modelled, one with short hair and one with a pony tail tied with a ribbon with one holding her arms around the other while the other holds her hand under her chin and appears to be contemplating. The figures are decorated in typical subdued tones of brown, blue and green on a predominantly white ground and has printed blue makers marks to the base and is numbered 930. The base also has molded marks to edge ‘C Th’ for Christian Thomsen.
