Czech Art Deco Hand Painted Porcelain Figurine of Nude Lady with Greyhound

About the Item

This elegant Art Deco sculpture was realized in the Czech Republic- renowned for producing some of the world's finest porcelain, sterling and glass products during this period- circa 1930. It features a hand painted nude lady with blonde hair running with a greyhound astride- all created in porcelain. She holds a ball painted in 24-karat gold leaf, apparently in the act of playing catch with her dog. This gilt recurs in the hair clip attached to her blonde head of hair. Elegantly proportioned, dynamic and elegant, this piece is sure to delight discerning Art Deco collectors, as well as those interested in a beautiful sculpture iconically representative of the era's aesthetic sensibility.     This collection of English commemorative ware consists of a 1937 Edward VIII coronation tea set, two 1837 Edward VIII coronation plates, a 1937 Edward VIII coronation flute, and a 1939 plate commemorating George VI and Queen Elizabeth's trip to the United States and Canada. The Coronation tea set consists of a teapot, two cups, each with a saucer, a creamer and a coupe-shaped, open sugar bowl.
