French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Bronze and Marble Statuary Signed Kinsburger

A striking French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and Gris St. Anne marble statue signed Kinsburger. The statue is raised by its original elegant octagonal Gris St. Anne marble base below the impressive rock and wave designed bowl in the shape of a seashell. At the center is a charming cherub riding a fierce richly sculpted dolphin. All original warm patina throughout.

Sylvain Kinsburger
Sylvain Kinsburger was a French neoclassical artist and sculptor, born in 1885. He was a student of Auguste Dumont and Gabriel-Jules Thomas, at the École des Beaux-Arts, in Paris, France. Sylvain exhibited a large figure entitled, Le Courtisan at the “Salon of 1911”. A large plaster of his dreaming sculpture, acquired by the “Salon of 1891”, was formerly at the town hall of Villefranche-sur-Saône.
