French Rene Lalique 'Figurine Mains Jointes' Glass Cachet

About the Item

Rare Rene lalique signed blue stained 'Figurine Mains Jointes' one of his rare small female form cachets- dating from 1920. (Ref: Marcilhac 209) Cachets were made so you could have your initials cut into the base and then use it to mark red wax seals for correspondence (fortunately no initials have been used on this piece). This early example has its original blue staining (a non permanent form of enamelling used by Rene Lalique on his best pieces). This piece is faintly signed to the base -a small scratched signature too small to photograph.
