Isaac Cordal Resin Sculpture, Viva La Muerte, Urban Inertia
About the Item
A resin zombie skeleton figure sculpture by Isaac Cordal, a contemporary Brussels-based Spanish sculptor, from the Urban Inertia exhibition, titled Viva la Muerte. The bust appears to protrude from whatever surface it is placed on, much like a zombie or undead emerging from the ground.
The artist's miniature sculptures, which began with his Cement Eclipses street art series, take the form of sad tiny little people sculpted from concrete or resin. Cordal manages to capture a lot of emotion in his small statues. His sculptures contemplate the demolition and reconstruction of everything around us, and in so doing, focus our attention on the absurdity of our existence.

Isaac Cordal
Isaac Cordal is sympathetic toward his little people and you can empathize with their situations, their leisure time, their waiting for buses and even their more tragic moments such as accidental death, suicide or family funerals. The sculptures can be found in gutters, on top of buildings, on top of bus shelters and in many unusual and unlikely places.
