Spanish Santa Margherita with Dragon hand carved wood sculpture. Beautiful original polychrome especially on the dog figure which is an example of a mythical Renaissance medieval dragon. During the Middle Ages, St. Margherita was grouped with 13 other saints to form the Fourteen Holy Helpers and became a patroness of Childbirth. Late 17th century. Published on Antico 0406 magazine. Measures: 43"H x 22"W x 12"D
