One of a Kind Guitar Steel Cable Sculpture
About the Item
Richard Newton’s sculpture is composed of lines and shapes that are messengers of movement. Surface textures, edges and colors are carefully worked in an effort to retain the energy of the raw materials. The intellectual content is derived from memories of psychological and emotional experiences.
“My desire is to create sculptures that capture movement and energy allowing the viewer to connect with the underlying emotion in the work”.
In 2010, Richard decided to pursue his passion for sculpture. Subsequently, he has had three major shows, one at Lincoln Center, NYC. His work is on permanent display at The Center
for Jewish Life at Yale University and at Studio80 Sculpture Grounds Essex, CT. Richard resides in Connecticut with his lovely wife, two dogs and fourteen horses.
