Portrait Bronze Relief Sculpture by G Loiseau, 1885

About the Item

Magnificent relief work portraying a man made in bronze signed G Loiseau attributed to the great post-impressionist French artist Gustave Loiseau. This attribution is given by not knowing sculpture work by the artist since his work focused on oil painting, during the 1880s Loiseau attended the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris, which totally fits with this work., being able to be a piece made by studying the different disciplines that all the artists developed in the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs. The signature with the singular G, equal to that of Gustave Loiseau in his paintings, also fits, the rest of the calligraphy was also done in a more formal way when it came to works presented at the École Nationale, you can also see what was written by hand. possibly the name of the foundry in the lower center of the work. The quality of the work is excellent, the signature fits with Gustave Loiseau. No other artist of G. Loiseau is known at the time, much less executed works of art of this quality, so we can be in front of the only sculpture made by the great French artist of which there is evidence, something of great importance taking into account the high price of the artist internationally.
