Sculpture Paternité by Manolo Hugué, 1940

About the Item

Patinated plaster sculpture in one of the most difficult colors to see in Manolo Hugué work, signed and cataloged in bronze in the book "Manolo" by Montserrat Blanch. It represents a bullfighter and his son exchanging complacent glances. It is a thematically and formally daring work, being the culmination of the career of the artist Manolo Hugué. Educated at the Escuela de la Lonja in Barcelona, he established a close friendship with Picasso and other artists in Paris, where he worked sublimely in sculptures and jewelry. In his artistic production, he always highlighted the fusion of the classical Mediterranean tradition and European avant-garde art.
