- Murano Glass Mezza Filgrana, Green Amethyst Clear with Gold Leaf, Cenedese AttrBy Cenedese, Carlo ScarpaLocated in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, FlorenceGreat color combination. The filigree/filigrana glass is a cane with a color inside. Usually clear on the outside with a core in colored or opaque glass. Most used are white or black filigrana. This is a self-made filigrana as there is a green coating over an Amethyst core, making the Amethyst almost a dark bronze color. The other cane is clear with amethyst. The twisting (mena in muranese, or ritorto) makes a lay with the back of the vase almost as it is a reticello (once called filigrana, so that explains the term mezza filigrana). The special color combination was then rolled over pure gold leaf, highlighted with the iridescence smoke and then covered with another layer of high temperature glass to make the gold vivid. The vase is quite large and carries a squared mouth, in a way of Carlo Scarpa mezza filigrana vases...Category

- Unique Murano Glass Vase Stellato in the style Pollio Perelda for Fratelli TosoBy Fratelli TosoLocated in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, FlorenceSplendid murano mosaic vase with a perfect color combination and complex mosaic technique. The stellato finish is made by rolling canes of various color over a small blob of incandescent glass. The design is attained by using the glass scissors at the end and making flat discs with a star design. All these are then heated on a flat surface, in the old time was a stone so this technique still carries that name, lavorazione a piera. It's heated so that it becomes an unique mosaic rectangular piece. It's then rolled with a glass disc that has the exact perimeter of the rectangular side. This makes the name that this technique is internationally known, Roll-up technique. The difficulty is to close into a cylinder the two other sides of the rectangle. After that the cylinder is closed on the opposite end, glowed to ge to the size, changing the working point with the punty technique (a puntello) and handopening to get the final shape. An incredible sequence of glassmaking technique to get a special design. The result is an intricate design of stars in an infinitive patchwork of color matching. This is commonly known as Stellato vase, which was enhanced and studied by Pollio Perelda...Category

- Murano Opaque Glass Vase Stellato in the style Pollio Perelda for Fratelli TosoBy Fratelli TosoLocated in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, FlorenceThis stunning Murano mosaic vase features a perfect blend of opaque colors and a sophisticated mosaic technique. The stellato finish is achieved by rolling canes of various colors over a small blob of heated glass. Using glass scissors, flat discs with a star design are created. These discs are then heated on a flat surface, traditionally a stone (referred to as lavorazione a piera). The process continues by rolling the heated pieces with a glass disc matching the rectangular side's perimeter, known internationally as the Roll-up technique. Closing the remaining sides into a cylinder, adjusting the size, and shaping the final form through the punty technique and hand-opening are the challenging steps. The result is a unique mosaic vase with a complex design of stars in an endless array of matching colors. Referred to as the Stellato vase, this technique was enhanced and studied by Pollio Perelda...Category
