The Mobile series combine sculpture with lighting, invoking motifs from atomic models and the space age. The concentric rings can be spun and reconfigured, inviting play and whimsy. The central orb illuminates the steel rings, which are hand-finished with patina.
Inspired by an imaginary orderly universe, rings and planets orbit around a glowing orb.
With the touch of a finger align the planets and create your own conjunction, creating infinite shapes.

Aurora Lampworks has been in business serving the architectural, design, and restoration communities for more than 40 years. Based in Brooklyn NY, we restore and replicate fixtures from iconic and landmarked historic buildings and institutions. The wonderful and never ending diversity of lighting has kept us engaged for many decades. Aurora Lampworks had specialized in the restoration of OPP - other people’s property. There is great satisfaction in making something old or in poor repair look cared for and well maintained. And of course, very importantly - safe! Now after all of the thousands of fixtures that we have restored or fabricated for other people, we are making our own collection of fixtures. Combining form and function, and always craft, the collection is made here in New York as we aim to keep industry at home and bring another facet to the diverse repertoire of our busy weeks.
Custom Finishes:
Hand-rubbed patina can me applied to the steel finish, allowing for greater customization. Custom finish may be specified for additional cost.
Our hand finished patina may have a reasonable degree of color/finish variation.
Length:
Fixture height may be lengthened or shortened.
Adornments:
Small steel that mimic planets in orbit adorn the fixture. Made-to-order fixtures can be purchased with or without adornments, and may be specified in location, size, and amount.
