Indonesian Lombok Drill on Mount, c. 1900

About the Item

Long ago, an Indonesian artisan living on Lombok, an island well known for its weaving, made his living using this handsome handcrafted drill. The ferrule tip is copper, the tapered handle iron and the shaft carved out of wood with a woven stop. Now elevated on a custom steel stand to showcase its fluidity of form, the still-functional drill lives on as a highly sculptural object.
