18th century Italian wood and papier-mâché tassels on an antique church textile base. The pair of tassels were used to decorate Italian churches during religious feast days. These are mounted onto a base with a coordinating 18th century Italian gold ecclesiastical textile. The top of the base is decorated with pyrite crystals. The tassels originated from a church in Lucca, Italy.
