Antique Wooden Pot or Tekhi, from Nepal, 13" Tall, circa 1900s
Early 20th century wood pot from Nepal, this particular style of wooden container, pot has a rounded fitted lid, detailed hand carved neck.
handcrafted from local hardwood, using a very basic lathe and other hand tools.
This antique vessel is hand turned from hard wood and shows a lustrous wax patina with a lovely wooden grain.
This antique "Tekhi" container comes from the mountains of Nepal where it was used to store food supplies. Beautiful old wood container from the Humla Mountain People of Nepal.
Pots like this were once found in practically every household, these handmade utilitarian pots were used for every day use for storing food supplies.
Attractive rich dark espresso patina makes a wonderful display piece.
Condition: The pot is in good condition. It has some minor nicks and bumps, and there has been some minor cracking and checking of the wood.
But it is structurally fully sound.
