Water Jug in White Porcelain Handcrafted in Portugal by Origin Made

About the Item

Water jug made of clay that reinterprets the historic typology with an upright profile and ergonomic handle. To encourage the user to consume tap water instead of from plastic bottles, Jug is a beautiful daily use object that never needs to be stored away. Its presence should remind and encourage us to consume local water, while keeping its contents cool with the thermal insulation property of porcelain. Material: Porcelain 100% fully handcrafted in delicate porcelain, each piece is one-of-its-kind with potential variations in color, shape and texture. Observations of such differences across products or orders does not constitute a basis for order cancellation or product returns. Designed by Shane Schneck, made by João Monteiro. The Craftsman Based in Palhaça, near Aveiro, João Monteiro runs a small workshop previously owned by his father, where familiar feelings spark the minute we enter the door. Fátima, who has been working with João and his father before him, for over 30 years, tell us, while mixing the glaze with her bare hand, how the secret for a perfect glazing is in the constant movement, the only tool she needs is a soft brush to correct small imperfections, the rest of the work is done only using her hands. They all share the same concern about the future of the industry and their dream is to have a space that can host schools in order to expose younger generations to the magic of handmade ceramic. The Designer Shane Schneck is an American designer based in Sweden, where he founded his Office for Design studio in Stockholm in 2010. International in his attitude and outlook, he previously lived and worked in Milan with the Piero Lissoni studio. His work has received international recognition, winning Red Dot, iF and Wallpaper design awards. His design ethos is to create simple yet innovative products that challenge industry standards. His products often contain an element of surprise, or are somehow playful or bold in their conception. Perhaps in their colour, form or use of materials. Care Instructions: Dishwasher safe Suitable for warm and cold drinks.

  • White Porcelain Moer Mortar and Pestle Handcrafted in Portugal by Origin Made
    By Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm
    Located in Porto, 13
The Moer Mortar and Pestle set, made from porcelain and chestnut wood, has a minimal yet sculptural expression. When in use, the heavy and elongated shape of the mortar ensures a sturdy work base. When not in use, the pestle rests naturally, following the inner shape of the mortar. This forms a beautiful and harmonious composition, indicating that it is always ready for use. Material: Porcelain and Wood 100% fully handcrafted in delicate porcelain, each piece is one-of-its-kind with potential variations in color, shape and texture. Observations of such differences across products or orders does not constitute a basis for order cancellation or product returns. Designed by Chris L. Halstrøm, made by João Monteiro and Carlos Barbosa. The Craftsman Carlos Barbosa and his two sons run a wood working factory in Paços de Ferreira. They produce high quality objects and furniture for both local architects and international clients. The unique thing about them is they stock a very large variety of Portuguese and imported hardwoods, and combine the best of hand and machine processes to make high quality products, in small to medium sized production runs. Based in Palhaça, near Aveiro, João Monteiro runs a small workshop previously owned by his father, where familiar feelings spark the minute we enter the door. Fátima, who has been working with João and his father before him, for over 30 years, tell us, while mixing the glaze with her bare hand, how the secret for a perfect glazing is in the constant movement, the only tool she needs is a soft brush to correct small imperfections, the rest of the work is done only using her hands.
