Art Nouveau Frosted Glass Cachepot w/ Foliate Sterling Overlay by Emile Lanlois

About the Item

This elegant Art Nouveau Cachepot was realized by the esteemed silversmith Emile Langlois in France circa 1900. It offers a subtly conical form with stylized foliate forms, suggestive of olive trees, etched into the frosted glass body. Olive tree medallions with striated petals and berries in sterling silver sit in dramatic three dimensional relief on the surface of the glass. The top and bottom of the cachepot are realized in sterling silver. The base features banded detailing, while the top (also in sterling silver) has braided detailing circumscribing the rim. With its fastidious attention to detail, beautiful craftsmanship and clean modernist lines, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate Art Nouveau design as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. It is in excellent vintage condition. France, circa 1900. Dimensions: Height: 3.75" x Diameter: 4.25"
