Pair of Antique Aprey French Faience Pottery Cachepots or Jardinieres

About the Item

A fine pair of antique French faience jardinieres or cachepots. By Aprey. Each with two painted scenes on either side. One has a man gardening and a woman carrying a breadbasket on her head, while the other has a woman holding flowers and a woman holding an unidentified object. Decorated throughout with floral motifs. Simply a great pair of French fainence cachepots or jardinieres!. Date: Late 18th or early 19th century. Overall Condition: They are in overall good to fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: Each has old repairs and repaint to the rims. There is light edge wear and glazing fritting throughout. One of the cachepots has a miniscule hairline to its rim and a black mark to its body, both are somewhat unglazed on the inside and top of their rims, and both have rubbing to the paint (especially on the handles) and light scratches throughout. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Aprey Marks: Each marked to the bottom with an Aprey maker's mark. Measurements: Width: ca. 5 7/8 in. Depth: ca. 4 5/8 in. Height: ca. 4 1/8 in. Cachepot 2: Width: ca. 5 5/8 in. Depth: ca. 4 3/4 in. Height: ca. 4 in.
