Pair of Large English Gilt Metal Standing Cups and Covers, circa 1890

About the Item

While apparently unmarked, this pair of standing cups are almost certainly by Elkington and Co. and are replicas of a silver gilt example in the Victoria and Albert Museum, hallmarked for 1611 with a makers mark of TYL. This standing cup at the V&A is illustrated in the "The Collector's Dictionary of the Silver and Gold of Great Britain and North America", by Michael Clayton pg. 93 (Illustration 188).
