19th Century Capodimonte Polychrome Porcelain Incense Burners Vases with Flowers

About the Item

An exquisite pair of early 19th century Italian Capodimonte Rocococ style polychrome porcelain incense burners in the form of urn shaped vases with two handles and pierced lids. The body is centered on both sides by a flower garland painted with naturalistic flowers while the entire body is adorned with masses of hand crafted and hand painted roses, daisies and wild flowers and leaves applied to form an impressive high relief effect. The floral decoration is enriched by two small sculptures of winged cherubs, sculpted in the round and placed on the sides of the vase under the scrolled handles. The details are stunningly scupltured showing the finest modelling even on the removable lids featuring an intricate bouquet of flowers and leaves finials perfectly arranged as flowers topiary. The floral compositions are a triumph of colors on the white porcelain background finished with gold trims.Delicate pink, ochre yellow, puce, lavender, plum, verdant green and periwinkle blue color scheme. This marvelous decorative vases are a delight which will transport you to the sun-filled days in the gardens of Italy. Complex, ornate form with elaborate details, exquisitely painted and in incredible good condition. No chips or cracks not a single flower is lost! A team of highly qualified artists working for the famous Capodimonte factory were required to create these two stunning centrepieces. Blue N crowned mark under the base of both vases.
