Antique Japanese Green Flower Vase with Copper in Edo Era, 1860s

About the Item

This is a green and red flower vase made in Japan around 1860 in Edo era. It is designed with a dragon and flowers. This style made with copper is called Shippou in Japanese. The cloisonné technique was mastered in China in the early 19th century and was often used to decorate metal objects. In earlier periods, the cloisonné technique involved the use of vitreous enamel and inlays of cut gems, glass and other materials. The decoration was created by first adding.
