Crystal and Gilt Bronze Vase by Boin-Taburet

About the Item

A classic and opulent crystal and gilt bronze Louis XVI-style vase, its goblet-shaped heavy crystal bowl diamond cut and fluted to refract the light. Luxuriously embellished with a brass frame and striking, square-cornered handles, the rim and pedestal base are beautifully moulded with laurel leaves, pearls and water leaves. The vase bears the stamp of 'Boin-Taburet', a luxury retailer and manufacturer of of silver, metalwork and decorative art, founded in 1873 by the antiques dealer George Boin and the jeweller Emile Taburet. The vase dates from around 1900.
