The Dark River Moon Jar is an elegant moon jar made of black sculpture clay. Mysterious in its minimal and refined nature. The raw clay provides a texture that displays the marks of the maker, simple and stunning.
This vessel is part of the Mugly. NYC winter collection entitled "Glacier", a series displaying deeply earthen, highly textured pieces, all of a limited color pallet of dark clay and white porcelain. The designs have an austere and powerful presence.
The Dark River Moon Jars are made to order, each one is one-of-a-kind, your moon jar may vary slightly from the photos shown.
The Dark River Moon Jar was hand-made by artist and designer Ilona Golovina in her Brooklyn, NY studio. It is a one-of-a-kind art object, perfect for display in the home alongside other interior decor. Ilona Golovina is known for ceramics featuring foraged clay, as well as exploring imperfection of form. She creates sculptural ceramics that have a familiar yet unknown quality. Capturing the imperfection and raw beauty of the human hand.
