A very beautifully made and sculpted wood-turned weed vase by famed American (Mendocino, CA) artist/ sculptor Doug Ayers. The natural. organic wood grain is quite spectacular in this piece.
Signed by Ayers on the base.
Ayers's work is becoming scarce and hard to find. He died tragically young. This piece is made of black Acacia wood as noted on the base.
Would be a great addition to any collectors of Ayers or other woodturner works (Bob Stocksdale, Rude Osolnik, Hap Sakwa, etc.) or make for an eye-catching stand-alone accent piece in about any setting.
