Dümler & Breiden German Lava Glazed Twin Handled Moon Vase
About the Item
A stylish and unusual German mid-century art pottery moon shaped twin handled vase decorated in lava glazes by Dümler & Breiden and dating from circa 1960-1970. The vase stands on a wide stepped round pedestal base with a flat round body with a wide raised and shaped opening with looped handles applied to either side. The body of the vase is decorated with a relief molded swirl design repeated to both sides. The centre and outer element of body decorated with brown texturted lava glazes with light yellow and brown glazes applied to the other elements on a cream colored ground. The vase has brown textured glazed finish to the base and has a DB scissor mark along with impressed number 1122/22.
