Ercole Barovier Crepuscolo Glass Vase

About the Item

Stunning and Rare Ercole Barovier Crepuscolo Glass Vase circa late 30's. Crepuscolo is a technique of inserting iron wool between two layers of molten glass prior to blowing the glass into its final form. This is a substantial, heavy and elegant piece of early Murano history. The clear iridescent glass holds smokey threads that rise and swirl throughout the piece in this unique shape and design. Each side with a dance of it's own. Designed by the legendary Creative Director Ercole Barovier it's a great addition for any murano collector. And yet it folds nicely into a contemporary or modern design with it's subtle richness. Depending upon the lighting it takes on a pastel iridescent glow. And in natural lighting the striations of steel wool are much softer to the eye creating the iridescent look. Note, lighting in photography looks slightly different to that of the natural eye.
