Japanese Antique Pottery Large Jar/1610-1680/Edo Period/Wabisabi Tsubo/Tokoname

About the Item

This is a pottery called Tokoname ware. It is a kiln with a very long history in Japan. Tokoname is a kiln located in Aichi prefecture, Japan. (Tokoname Kiln is marked with a red circle on the map of Japan.) Pottery has been made in this area since BC, and a kiln was built around the 5th century. Also, in Japan, there are 6 historic kilns that are still in operation. One of them. This Jar was made in the early Edo period (around the 17th century). The shape of the jar, its color, and the natural taste are different one by one. This item is drenched in ash and has a flowing natural whitish glaze. It has a beautiful color. In addition, every 360° surface has a color gradation and is very beautiful. Its slightly distorted shape is interesting and perfect for interior decoration. Also, it stands on its own. There is a little chipping around the mouth, but this is common. There are no major cracks or cracks. It is also a very old item. If you put water in this, it will soak from the bottom, so when decorating flowers, put water in another container and put it in that pot. Highly recommended item! Weight: 19.3kg. [We offer Japanese antique furniture and tools that are different from the Japanese antique furniture and art that have been appreciated abroad. These tools were used in private homes and farmhouses in the past. They have been passed through a long time and have an attractive taste. The reality is that many of these items are now being discarded along with the demolition of houses. We are on a mission to re-evaluate these fascinating old objects and preserve them for future generations. And we have seen tens of thousands of items so far. We have used that experience to list the most fascinating items here. We can do this because of our long experience. We will rediscover the "beauty" produced in the life and culture of the common people, which is different from the Japanese art and culture that is known and scattered around the world, and present it to the world. ]
