LARGE Art deco earthenware vase by Saint Ghislain with geometric decoration Heigh: 14.76 inches Réf : Saint-Ghislain art déco : la faïence pendant l'entre 2 guerres. p. 13.Jean Cauderlier Between 1927 and 1938, production increased from 1,500 tonnes to 2,810 tonnes. We use airbrush a lot for the decorations of table services. Many objects are made with some success in the Art Deco taste. After the Second World War, Saint Ghislain faced competition and encountered difficulties selling its merchandise. In 1947, its production was only 1,465 tonnes. Despite new investments and modernization of its tools, the earthenware factory had to close in 1963.
