Mark Griffiths Large Twin Handled Studio Pottery Vase with Grasses

About the Item

A very stylish English large twin handled studio vase decorated with wheat like grass stems by Shropshire based potter Mark Griffiths (British b.1956) and dating from the 1970’s. The stoneware bottle shaped vase stands on a narrow round unglazed base with a wide rounded body and tall narrow neck with a wider shaped top. Small looped handles have been applied to either side of the top edge of the body. The vase is decorated in streaked green-brown glazes and is simply incised to two sides with three wheat like grass stems. The vase has an impressed seal mark to the edge of the foot rim. In good condition.
