Midcentury Edvin Öhrström for Orrefors Sweden Graal Glass Vase
About the Item
This heavy Orrefors Graal glass vase was designed by highly regarded Swedish designer Edvin Öhrström (1906–1994). The piece has a classic flared cylindrical shape and features a thick layer of clear glass over a smoky amethyst color. The 5lb 8oz vase has been made with a subtle pattern of striations which resemble brush strokes. The foot is signed Orrefors Sweden along with the type of glass Graal and designation S 165 L, dating the piece to 1956. It is signed E. Öhrström.
This elegant Swedish art glass vase has a timeless form and would be an ideal addition to midcentury decor or works equally well in an eclectic setting. A lovely example.
