Midcentury Hand Thrown Black and White 'Pinstripe' Pitcher or Vase, circa 1950s

About the Item

Elegant jug or pitcher, hand thrown by an unknown studio potter, circa 1950-1959. It is certainly of European origin and most likely German made as it has very similar glaze techniques to those found on vases from the West German Pottery companies of the 1950s. However, the workmanship is really lovely - particularly the handle, which is cut from the vase and folded over - simple, clean lined and elegant. The pinstriped design sets this jug off perfectly and gives it a timeless quality.
