Monumental French Art Deco Palmette Cameo Glass Vase by Degué, Circa 1930s France, Circa 1930s A remarkable Monumental French Art Deco Palmette Cameo Glass Vase made by Degué glassworks from the 1930s. This exquisite French Cameo glass vase showcases an organic and naturalistic design, featuring taupe leaf motifs intricately carved onto a colorless textured ground, evoking a sense of subtle elegance and artistry. Standing impressively at 19 inches in height and 9.5 inches across, this substantial vase weighs approximately 13 pounds, embodying both grace and sturdiness. Marked with a cameo signature on its side, it bears the distinctive hallmark of Degué's masterful artistry. Its a distinguished masterwork. Further information on Degué Glassworks : David Guéron (1892 – 1950), of Turkish origin was outstanding successful in personal life and in business. He participated in the First World War fighting at the Western Front, luckily being just wounded and received a pension after he recovered. He first started producing glass in 1920s when he opened up “Cristalleries De Compiegne”, a glassworks factory in Compiègne, a city close to Paris, before specializing in luxury glassware. When he started his own artful glass design making “Degué” and was finally appreciated by the public. Guéron decided to focus his efforts mostly on the production of luxury glassware and opened up second factory, the “Verrerie D’Art Degué” in Paris in 1926.
