Moser Attributed Enamel Snake Decorated Opalescent Glass Vase
About the Item
A stunning green opalescent hand blown glass vase exquisitely decorated in colored enamels with a snake amidst floral and leaf designs attributed to Moser and dating from the latter 19th century. This finely made vase stands on a rounded pedestal foot with an amphora shaped body, narrow neck and wide rounded bowl shaped top. The vase is extensively decorated with a coiled snake surrounded by foral and leaf designs composed of small colored raised enamel sections set within gilt surrounds. With a stipple patterning around the top and with gilded lines around the top and foot this is a stunning decorative example and reminiscent of the work of Moser. The vase is not marked.
In good condition with some rubbing to the gilding around the edges.
