Pair of 19th Century Sang de Boeuf Oxblood Turquoise Vases with Copper Rings

About the Item

This wonderful sang de boeuf offering in deep red and turquoise travels as a pair. One of the most memorable features of the vases would be the intricate design of the ears with a copper ring and of course the colors. The oxblood is deep and reflective, and the turquoise is stunning with a hint that is reminiscent of Tiffany blue. They bear the Qing dynasty mark, according to the appraiser. The lamps are also known as oxblood lamps or flambé glaze lamps. They are a type of traditional Chinese ceramic art that originated during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) and reached the peak of popularity in the Qing dynasty (1644-1912). The term "Sang de Boeuf" is French for "oxblood," referring to the rich red color of the glaze. They are 13.5 inches tall and 7 inches wide. These lamps will be delivered via in home, white-glove delivery and will be carefully packed to ensure they arrive safely.
